Design that survives the engineering handoff

Jul 28, 2026 · 4 min read

Pretty files die in Jira. A system with tokens, states and a named owner is what actually ships.

Most design waste happens after the Figma review. Engineering gets a happy-path screen, QA finds the empty and error states, and the brand leaks because nobody named the tokens.

We treat handoff as part of the design job. Components, spacing, type and color are documented as a system the squad can implement without guessing. Motion and illustration have a job — they do not decorate a ticket.

The owner stays on the program through the first release. Questions in stand-up beat a 40-page spec that nobody opens. That is how UI/UX, brand and graphic work stay consistent once code starts moving.

If your last launch looked right in the deck and wrong in production, the gap is not taste. It is ownership after approval. That is the work our Art DeXperts take.
